Experienced Medicinal Chemist - Anti-infectives+-Ref: JID-MC

Redx Pharma has recently received substantial funding to develop innovative solutions to the treatment of Anti-infectives using the broad-based potential of its innovative Redox Switch™ platform. Our state of the art drug discovery research centre is located in the heart of Liverpool, based in the MerseyBio incubator.

We are undergoing a period of expansion and are thus looking to appoint an Experienced Medicinal Chemist with a proven aptitude for people management and coaching to join our rapidly growing company.

The qualified candidate will have experience of medicinal chemistry and drug discovery in the pharmaceutical industry with a track record of achievement. The candidate should have an extensive knowledge of compound design and lead optimization, as well as up-to-date knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry and parallel synthesis. It is expected that the candidate will contribute to multiple projects from the outset, leading a team and managing outsourcing.

We are a well funded, high growth oncology drug development company looking to recruit a team of top-flight Medicinal Chemists (at all levels from Associate through to Principal).

Working as a part of a new world-class team in drug development, you will be responsible for designing, creating and optimising novel drug candidates against a variety of cancer targets using the latest parallel technologies and purification techniques.

You will need:

Analytical Chemists+-Ref: JID-A

We are a well funded, high growth oncology drug development company looking to recruit a team of top-flight Analytical Chemists (at all levels from Associate through to Principal).

The Analytical Chemistry group are responsible for providing pharmaceutical analysis, bioanalysis and chemical characterisation in support of Redx Oncology projects designing, creating and optimising novel drug candidates against a variety of cancer targets using the latest parallel technologies and purification techniques.

You will need:

  • BSc or PhD
  • Practical knowledge and experience of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry in either a bioanalytical or pharmaceutical analysis context
  • Experience working in at least one of the following disciplines:
    • NMR
    • LCMS
    • HPLC
    • Bioanalysis
  • A sound appreciation of analytical state of the art in laboratory automation, and chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation
  • A general knowledge of the essential elements of drug discovery

In Vitro Pharmacologists+-Ref: JID-P

We are a well-funded, high growth oncology drug development company looking to recruit a team of top-flight In Vitro Pharmacologists (at all levels from Associate through to Principal) across a range of disciplines, from assay development and compound screening, cell culture and DMPK.

The In Vitro Pharmacology group at Redx Oncology will be responsible for the testing of all NCEs across a range of targets using a variety of platform technologies. The group will liaise closely with colleagues in medicinal and analytical chemistry to help drive forward the identification and optimisation of novel drug candidates against a variety of cancer targets.

You will need:

  • A PhD or BSc (Hons) in a relevant pharmacological discipline
  • Preferably with experience of either assay development, Cell Culture or DMPK
  • Good analytical skills
  • Strong communication and team working skills

Informatics Manager+-Ref: JID-IM

Role involves the management, implementation and tailoring of a suite of informatics software within the Redx organisation across all disciplines including chemistry, pharmacology and DMPK. The individual would liaise closely with line and project teams to customise the platform and ensure best practise across the organisation. Reporting to the Head of Project Management.

Key duties:

  • Support and customisation of informatics platform
  • Work with users to implement best-practise across platform and manage system to ensure users comply with established business rules as well as providing user training
  • Primary internal point-of-contact for fixes and feature requests as well developing views and methodology for smooth data acquisition and analysis
  • Provide key liaison with software providers
  • Liaise closely with computational chemistry and other disciplines
  • Drive the expansion strategy of informatics provision with Redx
  • Work with users to ensure all data correctly uploaded to software suite
  • Create specific visualisations to aid project teams in mining their data

Job requirements:

ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSc in Chemistry or biological science (or equivalent) or equivalent relevant experience
EXPERIENCE
  • Proven experience in the setting up, maintaining and use of an informatics platform
  • Knowledge and experience in the management of chemical and biological databases
  • Experience with Oracle, SQL, HTML, etc
  • Knowledge of Dotmatics informatics platform (perhaps gained through industrial experience)
  • Experience with Pipeline Pilot, Knime and other informatics tools
  • Experience in a Drug Discovery environment
