14 Jun 2013

Redx Pharma has been named Knowledge Business of the Year at the Liverpool Post Regional Business Awards. The judges’ citation praised the exceptional science, ambition and outstanding potential of the company.

Redx was given the accolade at a ceremony which recognises the successes of regional companies, projects and individuals within the Liverpool City Region. Other winners included an export award for Jaguar Land Rover and the title of business person of the year for shipyard entrepreneur John Syvret of Cammell Laird.

Dr Neil Murray, Redx chief executive, said:
We continue to enjoy a period of strong growth and expansion – and are grateful to the judges for acknowledging the achievements and hard work of our team. We have created a Liverpool business with an international profile, one that already employs almost 150 people in high value jobs, with at least another 150 to come. Redx has also attracted some £20m in public and private investment to the city.

The judges heard that during 2012 Redx Pharma had secured its first major international deal– an eight-figure licensing agreement with Dishman Pharmaceuticals & Chemicals. During the year under review Redx also formally launched two subsidiaries and announced detailed, funded plans for a third.
